It's easy to see why you are thinking about a career in policing. You want variety with no two days the same, and you want to do a job that's worthwhile and gives something back to the community.

Being a police officer is much harder than you may think. It will be mentally and physically challenging. It will drain your emotions and be demanding on you as a complete person. You will form a bond with colleagues who will rely on you, and you on them, in difficult and dangerous circumstances.

The aim of this guide is to help you with your decision and possible application, and ultimately to help us recruit the right people to meet the challenges faced by today's Police Service.
