HOME INTRUDER SHOT

On May 6,at about 11:15pm, acting on information received, Police visited an area on Marage Road, Ladyville Village, where they saw 25 year old Darrel Hyde, of Burrell Boom Village suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the chest and side of the body. Hyde was immediately transported to the K.H.M.H where he later succumbed to his injuries while under going surgery. Initial investigation reveals that 59 year old Charlie McIntosh, a businessman and the owner of Esso Service Station in Ladyville, arrived at his residence at about 11:00pm. Upon arrival he knocked on his door when suddenly a man ( later identified as Darrell Hyde) opened the door and hit him with a hammer on the forehead. A struggle ensued and Mr. McIntosh fired several shots from his licensed .38 revolver, causing the fatal injuries to Hyde who then fled the scene. He was later found lying on the road. Police are investigating.

COROZAL DISTRICT

KEPT AMMUNITION WITH OUT A FIREARM LICENSE

On 6.5.08 at about 12:45pm, Police conducted a search at Esquivel’s Farm situated at about 1 ½ miles off Consejo Road, Corozal District in a white and gray Vacationer Camper which led to the discovery of five (5) 16 gauge cartridges. As a result Police have arrested and charged Lowell Bayless, 46yrs, unemployed U.S national of Oregon U.S.A. who was present at the time, for the offence of keeping ammunition without a firearm license.

CAYO DISTRICT

RE- MISING PERSON

Reference missing person report made by Marisa Mckay, of Esperanza Village Cayo District . Mckay has told police that her daughter Elenita Awe has returned home in good health.

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On 6.5.08 at about 5:15pm, Police and BDF were conducting patrol on the Hydro Road. They conducted a search inside a red Mazda Pickup Truck bearing L/P BMP-00069 which was parked on the side of the road. As a result police discovered a purple and black plastic bag containing 558 grams of suspected cannabis. Police have since arrested and charged the four occupants of the vehicle namely (1) Thomas Pierce, 55yrs, (2) Twila Ann Boots, 46yrs, Domestic both U.S Citizen of #30 Flamingo Avenue San Ignacio Town, (3) Rosita Elvira Mendez, 32yrs, and (4) Rolando Ramirez, 32yrs both Belizean farmer of 5 ½ miles Hydro Road for the offense of Drug Trafficking.
