EL CAPITAN ROBBERY
Ms. DALPHINE VEGA, a secretary of Belize City, reported that about 1:15 pm on the 5/5/08, was inside El Capitan Store situated at #5963 Campos Avenue Belize City. A red skin, slim built man about 5ft. 8ins. in height, Afro hair with a black spot under the eye. The man who was wearing a blue strong arm shirt and blue Jeans Pants came to the store and asked for a gallon of resin. Ms. Vega then went inside the storeroom to get the resin but when she returned she saw the man with a stocking over his head and had a gun in his right hand. The man then tied Vega on a chair with a tape, cocked the gun and pointed it at her and demanded money. Fearing for her life she showed him a desk where the cash drawer was. The man then proceeded to search the drawer and took a cream in color cash pan which contained $2,000.00; other receipts and placed it in a black garbage bag, and made good his escape. Police continue their investigations. URGESS SOUGHT FOR MISSING MONEY
Ms. DILCI PATT, an Accountant of Belize City reported that sometime between April 15 and 25, one Dave Burgess who was an employee at the Belize Refrigeration limited located at 1 1/2 miles Northern Highway made sales for the company but could not give account of the sum of $3,253.36. Police are now looking for DAVE BURGESS in connection with this incident.
MAN PAID WITH BOUNCE CHEQUE
MR. ANDY CRUZ 23yrs a taxi driver of Belize City, reported that on April 17/, he sold his gold Lincoln Town Car L/P D-3501 to his friend known to him as Jonathan for $3,800.00. Jonathan paid him with a First Caribbean bank check then left with the vehicle. When Cruz tried to cash the check he discovered that the account did not have any funds. On the 18th April 2008 Cruz met Jonathan who returned the vehicle but the following items were missing: (1) black Sony Brand amplifier valued $300.00 (1) white fun station game valued $65.00 (1) lifting part of the car jack valued $45.00. Also, the vehicle was found to be experiencing mechanical problems and had a spare wheel damaged. Jonathan is being sought by police for questioning.

ARREST: Reference report made by Mr. Fareed Ahmad on the 2/5/08, police formally arrested and charged Keon Francis, 17yrs, of #3323 Central American Boulevard, Belize City, for the crime of Robbery.
ARREST: Reference report made by Ms. Deborah Castillo on the 3/5/08, police formally arrested and charged 28 year old Robert Robinson a laborer of #17 Craig Street, Belize City, for the Crime of Burglary. TWO MEN FACE CHARGES FOR SHOTGUNS
On the May 5, at about 11:45pm at mile 31 on the Southern Highway, police spotted a parked vehicle through a feeder road. The vehicle was searched which resulted in the discovery of (2) 12 gauge shotgun and (6) cartridges. Two men,53 year old Samuel Burgess and 42 year old John Glenn - both of Placencia - were inside and failed to provide police with a gun license. As a result both men were arrested and charged for the crime of kept firearm with out a gun license .The two men were escorted to Dangriga Magistrate Court to answer charges.
Reference robbery report made by Ezekiel Chi police formally arrested and charged 22 year old Jairo Perez, a laborer of Boca Del Rio Area for the crime of Robbery.
ROBBERY
Margarita Acosta, manager of A&R Store, Corozal Branch situated o #17 -4th Avenue reported that on May 5, at about 8:15am, was inside her office on the lower flat of the two story building, waiting for the cashier to balance the money for Saturday’s sales. A male person of dark complexion who had a black stocking over his face and armed with a hand gun entered the establishment. The man then placed the firearm at her throat and pushed her down on the floor then took all the money that was on a desk totaling $4,975.00 and fled the scene. Police are investigating.
POSTMORTEM EXAMINATION
On May 5, at about 1:00pm, a postmortem examination was conducted on the body of Zacarias Pop, a BDF soldier of Red Bank Village, Stann Creek District. At the conclusion of the examination a doctor certified the cause of death to be trauma shock due to head injuries in a motor vehicle accident.
MISSING PERSON
Marisa Mckay, a domestic of Esperanza Village, Cayo District, reported that on May 5, at about 1:00pm, she left home leaving her daughter 14 year old Elenita Awe and her brother at a neighbor’s house. Upon her return at about 6:30pm she was informed by her son that Elenita had left along with her step father Raymond Crawford and has not returned. Her description is as follows; slim built, narrow face, sharp nose, brown skin, hair to shoulder length, weights about 100lbs, 5 feet 3 inches in height . The clothing she was wearing is unknown. SHOMAN ARRESTED
Today Tuesday May 5, at 9:30am, a house search was conducted at # 2 Miles Northern Highway, the residence of Jose and Malachi Shoman. As a result (1) 12 gauge Pump Action Shot Gun (Winchester brand) of which a gun license was not issued was discovered, with (91) 12 gauge cartridges and (28).38 rounds of ammunition which were in excess of two stipulated firearm licenses. As a result of the findings Jose SHOMAN, a businessman of # 2 Miles Northern Highway and Malachi SHOMAN, a housewife, were arrested and charged jointly for the offence of “Kept Firearm without a License”, and “Kept Greater Number of Ammunition than Specified in License”.
