SHOOTING INCIDENT INJURES MAN
MR. LADRICK BELL, 23yrs, of Belize City, reported that at 8:30 pm on the 30/4/08, with five friend namely, when suddenly KEISHA BULLA, who was standing in front of ORWIN WADE's residence shouted “ORVIN GUNMAN”. Bell then heard (3) shots being fired and saw (2) dark skin male persons on separate bicycles. He recognized one of the male persons as MARLON JONES aka “FIDGET BIRD” standing about 100 feet away at the corner of Gill Street and Ross Penn Road, pointing a hand gun that resembled a .9mm pistol in their direction. The other man was standing about 125 feet away holding JONES’ bicycle. Fearing for his life he ran into his open yard where he then heard (10) or more shots being fired. As a result of the shooting incident Orvin Wade was grazed by bullets to the back and right leg. Wade was treated and released from the KHMH. Police are looking for MARLON JONES aka "FIDGET BIRD” for questioning. TAXI MAN THREATENED WITH GUN
MR. CECIL GILL, 45yrs, Taxi Driver of Belize City, reported that at 7:00am on the 01/05/08, he was driving his green color 1997 Dodge Ram van on Vernon Street, Belize City, when he got into an argument with the driver of a black Mazda car. About 10 minutes later while Gill was heading home on Logwood Street, the black color Mazda car drove pass him and turned into the alley beside the La Popular Bakery. Mr Gill was driving home, when the car then reversed out the alley and a Hispanic male person exited the car, took out a black color handgun and pointed it towards Gill who was about fifteen feet away, sitting in his van. Mr Gill then picked up a stick from the drain and the man reversed out of Logwood Street. Police responded to this report and both men were brought to the station. Police are in possession of the gun, a .380 pistol with 6 (9mm) rounds and a gun license in the name of Debbie Vasquez. Twenty four year old Bert Haylock, a businessman of 57 North Front Street has been detained in connection with this incident.
STOLEN CAR
MR. DENTON JENKINS, 40yrs, D.O.B. 13/2/68, Belizean, Operating Room Technician of Sand Hill Village, Belize District, reported that sometime between the hours of 11:00 am on the 29/4/08 and 8:00 am on the 1/5/08 someone stole his 1989 gray Ford Tempo 4 door car with L/P Bz C-22095 valued at $2,000.00 while parked on Nurse Seay Street, Belize City. TRAFFIC ACCIDENT CLAIMS SILVIO
On Thursday 1st May, 2008 at 4:05am acting upon information received of a traffic accident on the Western Highway near the Kontiki Gas Station, Police visited the area where they found a brown Mazda car bearing L/P CY-C-27504 with it’s four wheels up and man lying about 8ft away from the car apparently dead . Initial investigation revealed that 28 year old Silvio Torund of Costa Rican Lab. Hills of Promise area Benque Viejo had just dropped off some friends at Log Cabins and was heading back to San Ignacio town when he lost control of the Vehicle he was driving and over turned. Silvio Torunds’ body was taken to the San Ignacio Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
ARREST: reference reported made by Manuel Martin on the 30/4/08. on the 1/5/08, police formally arrested and charged 25 year old SILVERTER MALDONADO, driver of Lords Bank, Ladyville, Belize District, for the crime of “Theft”.
